2016-2017 Season

Called

This new one-act play "Called", written by Chuck Puckett, is a biographical reverie that presents the life of legendary coach Bear Bryant, told in a series of reminisces and lookbacks as he sits in a hunting lodge in South Alabama in 1983, and important people from his past make appearances in his memories. Directed by Lauren Salerno.

  • Saturday, September 24 @ 7pm

All performance will be at the Princess Theatre, 112 2nd Ave, Decatur, AL. All tickets are $10, general admission.

 

Driving Miss Daisy

Alfred Uhry's Pulitzer Prize winning play that delves into the decades long contentious relationship between the elderly Jewish matriarch, Daisy Werthan, and the man, Hoke Colburn, her son Boolie hired to be her driver when she was no longer capable. An endearing clash of cultures that has warmed the hearts of audiences for years. Directed by Carol Puckett

Production dates are March 2,3,4,10, & 11

Performances at the Carnegie Center for Visual Arts in Decatur, AL.

 

Steel Magnolias

Steel Magnolias is a comedy–drama play about the bond among a group of Southern women in northwest Louisiana. Written by Robert Harling, based on his experience with his sister's death. The title suggests the "female characters are as delicate as magnolias but as tough as steel". Directed by Heather Kalonick.

Auditions are March 23 & 25.

Production dates are May 11,12 & 13

Fiddler On the Roof

Based on "Tevye and his Daughters" and other tales by Sholem Aleichem, Fiddler On the Roof is the story of Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his Jewish religious and cultural traditions as outside influences encroach upon the family's lives. He must cope both with the strong-willed actions of his three older daughters, who wish to marry for love – each one's choice of a husband moves further away from the customs of his faith – and with the edict of the Tsar that evicts the Jews from their village. Music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and book by Joseph Stein.. Directed by Lauren Salerno.

Auditions are Thursday May 18 & Sunday May 21.

Production dates are July 20, 21 & 22
