LAB 87: A Teen's Conservatory

 

Date and Times:

Event will be held at 3312 Long Ave., Huntsville, AL.

Synopsis: Lab 87: A Teen Actor’s Conservatory is FPCT’s pre-professional training program intended for serious performers ages 13-18. Named after the year FPCT’s original teen ensemble , the Players, was founded in 1987, Lab 87’s curriculum is designed to increase a young actors’ knowledge of various performance techniques, mastery of their craft, and provide in-depth ensemble work, as well as special performance opportunities. A member of our elite group of Actors will receive:
Pre-Professional Training
Teaching Assistant Internship
Master Classes
Tour of UAH Theatre and information about the Theatre Program
Discounts on additional Academy Classes/Camps and Performance Showcases

Actors should prepare a one-minute monologue of their choice and plan to move and have fun and take part in a group audition.

Admission is by audition only in August of each year. This year, those auditions are on August 5-6. Previous members are automatically enrolled into the upcoming program.

Cost: Tuition is $475 for the academic year. Payment plans and tuition assistance available.

Other info: Ages 13-18. Lab 87 meets weekly on Monday evenings from 6:30pm-8:30pm during the academic year. Previous acting and/or musical theatre course work or equivalent experience is required. Recommended prerequisites include Acting/Musical Theatre II and/or a Performance Showcase.

Broadway Star Concert Series

All related events at VBC Playhouse 700 Monroe Street in Huntsville, AL.

Synopsis: Lyrique Music Productions welcomes Laura Bell Bundy to the Huntsville are as part of our Broadway Star Concert Series! The Broadway and Country Music star's many career successes include originating the Broadway roles of Amber in "Hairspray" and Elle Woods in "Legally Blonde". Don't miss this rare opportunity to watch a multi-talented performer mentor local artists! On Friday August 25th, LMP will once again collaborate with our mentor for back to back classes with individually handpicked students. On Saturday August 26th, we will welcome her back for a performance of some of her favorite hits and show tunes.
