The play opens just after the crossing of the Red Sea, and travels to Mt. Sinai where the commandments are received. The Golden Calf episode convinces many that they will never be allowed in the Promised Land, but Moses revives their dedication,and they persevere.

Moses. You know, Moses. Moses lives in a different plane than other people. He speaks to God, though he sometimes wonders who he is talking to.
- Zipporah. Moses' wife. Devoted and strong-willed, but knows she plays second fiddle to God.
- Joshua. Moses' trusted lieutenant. Not a mystic at all, he's a man who gets things done.
- Dathan. A rabble-rouser, leader of the nay-sayers. Does not believe in the vision. Dathan is the villain of the piece, interested only in returning to Egypt and his life of privilege.
- Aaron. Moses' brother. A metalworker & pragmatist.
- Marayam. Moses' sister & tribal leader.
- Levi. Tribal leader.

Set: The action takes place in a stylized Sinai desert. This can be created by a drop or perhaps just a few set pieces (boulders, etc). Costuming should be a mixture of anachronistic (jeans and tees) to "period" (robes and hoods).
